The Design Options for Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Evaluation (DOHVE) Technical Assistance (TA) Team provides assistance to grantees funded under the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program on issues related to strengthening their evaluations of promising programs, developing and adapting data systems to facilitate tracking and reporting on federal benchmarks, and implementing quality improvement systems.

  • Benchmark Plan Elements and Guidance

    Drawing from commonalities across benchmark plans, this document makes recommendations for strengthening benchmark plans.

  • Measurement Brief: Selecting Data Collection Measures for MIECHV Benchmarks

    The intent of this document is to support the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program as part of the provision of technical assistance to funded grantees. Specifically, this brief focuses on the selection and development of performance measures or indicators to achieve those goals related to the legislatively mandated benchmark areas.

  • Model Developer Crosswalk to Benchmarks

    The following resource tool reflects information obtained from model developers as to how each evidence-based model aligns across the MIECHV program benchmarks. The government does not endorse these measurement instruments/items or the model developer’s recommendations on the use of the instruments/items to meet MIECHV benchmarks.

  • DOHVE ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE Issue Brief

    This document provides information on the purpose, format, administrations and training costs of the Ages and Stages Questionnaires (ASQ-3 and the ASQ:SE). It also provides information on the potential use of each tool in assessing Benchmark 3 constructs.

  • Life Skills Progression Brief: Information and Guidelines for Use in Meeting MIECHV Benchmarks

    The Life Skills Progression (LSP) is an outcome summary tool that home visitors can use to gather and organize information about family competencies obtained from other data sources.

  • DOHVE Compendium of Measurement Tools for MIECHV Grantees

    The intent of this document is to support the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program by providing measurement resources relevant to home visiting programs.

  • Benchmark Constructs Crosswalk to Compendium of Measures

    The Benchmarks Constructs Crosswalk to Compendium of Measures specifies how measures in the compendium align with benchmark constructs that all MIECHV programs are required to address.

  • Optional Tool for the Measurement of Coordination and Referral Benchmark Constructs

    This measurement tool has been developed for adaptation and use in part or in whole by home visiting programs to track their progress in coordination and referral with outside services and resources for enrolled families. The tool may be used by any home visiting program that is interested in tracking its progress in improving coordination and referral for families they serve or programs they fund.

  • Measuring Child Maltreatment Benchmark Constructs

    This brief focuses on the measurement of three benchmark constructs related to child maltreatment using child welfare (CW) agency administrative data sources.
