  Corinne Herlihy
  Senior Associate

Herlihy is currently working on a feasibility study for programs designed to improve the math skills of entering high school freshmen, a study of small schools of choice in New York City, as well as the National Reading First Impact Study. Herlihy is site liaison and senior reviewer for an evaluation of the impact of supplemental literacy interventions in freshman academies. Herlihy coauthored MDRC’s reports on Talent Development’s impact on the engagement and performance of middle and high school students. She was a key researcher and coauthor of MDRC’s report commissioned by the Council of Great City Schools, Foundations for Success. Within the Foundations for Success study, she was involved in qualitative case study research aimed at understanding the efforts of large urban school districts to both improve overall student achievement and reduce racial disparities in academic performance. Herlihy serves as MDRC’s liaison with the National High School Center (the central resource on high school improvement for the 16 Regional Comprehensive Centers supported by the U.S. Department of Education) and the National High School Alliance, a partnership of nearly 50 organizations promoting the excellence, equity, and development of high school-age youth. Prior to her graduate studies at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, Herlihy was a teacher of mathematics at the middle and high school levels.
