Manno works primarily as an implementation researcher for several of MDRC’s evaluations of policies and programs serving populations with barriers to employment, such as disconnected youth and former prisoners. As an implementation researcher, she is responsible for developing and monitoring implementation research procedures and interview protocols, conducting site visits, and developing analyses of implementation findings. Her current work includes evaluations of Youth Village’s Transitional Living program, the Second Chance Act Adult Offender Reentry program, and YouthBuild. Manno is also actively involved in MDRC’s portfolio of health work, as the co-leader of the implementation research for the multisite evaluation of New York State’s Chronic Illness Demonstration Project and leader of implementation research for the Colorado Regional Integrated Care Collaborative. Both demonstrations aim to provide coordinated care to highly complex Medicaid beneficiaries with multiple chronic conditions as a means to improve health outcomes and reduce health care costs. Manno has coauthored a number of reports and presented research results to policy analysts. She began her career as a researcher for the Urban Institute in Washington, D.C. She holds a B.A. and an M.S. in sociology.
