Gupta is a data manager in MDRC’s Young Adults and Postsecondary Education policy area. Her projects include the evaluation of CUNY Start, a community college program at City University of New York that provides intensive instruction in reading, writing, and math for students with significant developmental (remedial) needs; the long-term evaluation of CUNY’s Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP), a comprehensive program to help students with developmental needs graduate with associate’s degrees relatively quickly; and the Encouraging Additional Summer Enrollment (EASE) project, which applies insights from behavioral science to improve community college persistence and completion. Gupta, who also works on methodological projects at MDRC, received bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and music and an MA in music theory and history from the Pennsylvania State University. Before joining MDRC in 2014, she worked at a health care consulting firm.
