Syrov serves as a resource manager and research analyst in the Youth Development, Criminal Justice, and Employment policy area. In this role, she supports project directors and task leaders with project management by developing and maintaining budgets and staffing plans. She also acts as a liaison to consultants, subcontractors, and funding agencies. Her current projects focus on populations with substantial barriers to employment; they include Building Evidence on Employment Strategies for Low-Income Families (BEES). Before joining MDRC, Syrov worked as a grants administrator for the Research Foundation of the City University of New York, where she honed her skills in budget monitoring and contract management on a portfolio of more than 100 government-sponsored programs. She holds a master’s degree in public administration from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the Macaulay Honors College at Baruch College.
